Here are some apps I found to help learn the gender of words in French. They aren't perfect and you will ultimately need to memorize the gender for each word, but these apps can help you with the general rules (sadly, there are always exceptions!)

For Apple devices: French Gender (Erasmos)

About me

I graduated from the University of British Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts with a double major in English and French in May of 2011. Over the course of my undergrad career, I participated in multiple leadership experiences (many of which were in public schools in Vancouver) and provided private tutoring to students with diverse needs.

In the fall of 2011, I returned to school for my Bachelor of Education in French and English, studying methodology, communication, and teaching literature as part of a French cohort. I applied these skills during my practicums, where I taught French and Transitional English in a public high school. Having completed the program in August of 2012, I am now certified by the BC College of Teachers to teach in public and independent schools across the province.
